The event sought to emphasize the present national context
and how the climate crisis is intertwined with the current
demands of the public
The Seminar "Dreaming Energy: From Illusion to Practice" was the closure of
ACERA's #SoñemosEnergía2030 campaign under COP25. The day began with the
participation of the Minister of Energy, Juan Carlos Jobet, who appreciated that
ACERA should continue with this activity despite the cancellation of the COP25
climate summit in Chile and the social situation that the country is going through.
One of our dreamers was CNN Chile journalist and Turner's "Earth Challenge"
campaign host Paloma Avila, who was in charge of closing the campaign.
"Maintaining a seminary, in the context in which we are, is an urgent political and
ethical act. In Earth Challenge, we also decided for no reason to cancel the
environmental agenda, because both issues are completely intertwined.
Communicating is a duty of the media, but also of all sectors involved," she said.
The seminar featured different talks and panels in which Senator Felipe Kast, the
Champion of COP 25, Gonzalo Muñoz, Sara Larraín of Chile Sustentable and the
Advisor on Climate Change and Circular Economy of the World Bank, Marcelo
Mena, among others, participated. On the occasion the 30 participants of the
campaign received the digital book "30 dreams for 2030", which contains all their
dreams.
