nove,ned·, og...og_jbyDr/vla:XSaliva Cell Sample Collection InstructionORAcollect.Dx is intended for use in thenon-invasive collection of saliva samples.Human DNA from the saliva sample is isolated,stabilized and is suitable for use in moleculardiagnostic applications.1. Refrain from eating, smoking, or chewing for at least 30minutes before sample collection.2. Donors with xerostomia (dry mouth) may not collectadequate sample using these instructions resulting in lowyield DNA. In that case DNA extracted from whole blood isrecommended.3. Open package from the end with the 'open here arrow'.Saliva Cell CollectionUSING ORAL SWAB ORAcollect.Dx COLLECTION KIT4. Remove collector by its handle from the package whileensuring that the sponge tip does not come in contact withany surface prior to collection.5. Place sponge as far back in the mouth as comfortable(Figure 2).3®6. Gently rub along lower gum in a back and forth motion 10times. Avoid rubbing the teeth.7. Choking Hazard: Caution must be taken when inserting thesponge into the donor's mouth.8. Repeat rubbing motion on opposite side along the lowergum for another 10 times.9. Hold the tube with the blue liquid upright to prevent it fromspilling.10. Unscrew the blue cap from the tube without touching thesponge (Fugure 3).11. Turn the cap upside down and insert the sponge intothe tube and close the cap tightly (Figure 4).12.
