Barton C of E

Primary School

has been

crowned Recycle

with Michael’s

winning school!

Barton C of E Primary School in

Yorkshire was named the winner of

the The Salvation Army’s county-wide

competition to encourage recycling

in schools, as part of its Recycle with

Michael initiative to divert thousands

of tonnes of textiles away from landfill.

The Yorkshire pupils collectively

saved over three tonnes of clothes

and shoes from going to landfill.

Designed specifically for primary

school-aged children, the programme

is an important way for schools to

generate much-needed funds as well

as supporting The Salvation Army’s

work to helping vulnerable people

from all walks of life in communities

across the UK.

Georgia Ptak Aged 9

(Primary Times Fife)

Every year Primary Times asks children to create the picture

for our Christmas Card. This year we received a sack full of

wonderful entries and we would like to thank you all for

taking the time to draw, colour, paint and

glitter your designs for us!

The winner of the competition is Georgia Ptak, Aged 9, who

will receive 50 Christmas cards made with

her design of a festive Igloo!

Jumper Day is back on the 13th

December.

So mark the date in your school

diary, sign up for your free

fundraising pack. Swap your blazer

for a Christmas jumper. There’s no

need for new jumpers - jazz up

old knits or hold a jumper swap at

school.

Your pupils will love seeing

teachers tinseled and class mates
