The Kamaruka Education Centre<br />
is an independent intervention<br />
school with a modified curriculum<br />
for boys who have difficulty coping<br />
with the demands of mainstream<br />
school due to learning difficulties,<br />
behavioural, social, and or<br />
emotional issues.<br />
Kamaruka is one of a few places<br />
that provides an opportunity to<br />
successfully continue at school in a<br />
positive and nurturing environment.<br />
The program offered at Kamaruka<br />
is designed for boys diagnosed<br />
with ADHD, and may benefit boys<br />
with high functioning ASD.<br />
Kamaruka’s social and behavioural<br />
skills programs provide students<br />
with strategies to self-manage<br />
their behaviour and develop<br />
organisational skills, in a highly<br />
structured school environment.<br />
This program offers boys with<br />
average or above average IQ, who<br />
suffer anxiety and low self-esteem,<br />
an opportunity to successfully<br />
pursue a career path.<br />
