FEATURED ARTIST
SHARON FUJIMOTO
Sharon Fujimoto has
been involved with glass
for over 45 years, first as
a student at the School
of the Art Institute of
Chicago and currently
as a full-time glass artist
with a studio near
Amherst Junction,
Wisconsin. She creates
works of art and functional objects using
glass as the primary medium.
Her belief in the simplicity of form combined
with vibrant colors and the excitement of
“accidents” drives her interest
in creating beauty that
will be timeless.
“I love the medium,
the process, the
physicality of
blowing glass
and the surprises
that happen each
and every day
I work.”
MMoCA's biggest event of the year • mmoca.org/artfair
Welcome to the MMoCA Art & Gift Fair, a
fundraiser for the Madison Museum of
Contemporary Art. Feel good: just by attending
you are helping support the arts in Madison!
With some 70 juried artists; Gourmet Gallery
vendors with sweet and savory treats;
specialty vendors offering scented candles
and body products; creative demonstrations
and live entertainment we're sure you'll enjoy
this favorite tradition. Stroll through MMoCA
and the Overture Center… take a holiday selfie
and find inspiration in a designer vignette
in the State Street Gallery. Visit the Silent
Auction on the lower level, where you can bid
on works from participating artists. Nearby,
discover a cozy Reading Nook and in the
popular Rediscovered Treasures & Art Sale,
find a treasure-trove of donated art, jewelry,
small antiques, decorative art, and other "preloved"
items.
MMoCA thanks jurors: Angelica Contreras, a
Madison-based mixed media artist; Sally de
Broux, Director of Merchandising – Art & Décor
at the Artful Home; and Jenie Gao, Artist and
Creative Director of Jenie Gao Studio LLC.
We owe a great debt of gratitude to MMoCA
Volunteers Board members and President, Amy
Paulios; the Silent Auction Chair, Brynne Nodolf;
Bubbly Brunch Chair, Valerie Kazamias; and
sale volunteers Lisa Reinhart, Nancy Doll, Meri
Rose Ekberg, and Chris Elholm. We also give
wholehearted thanks to MMoCA Events Intern,
Kristina Wiltshire, and the hundreds of volunteers
who help make this event a success.
MMoCA is grateful to the generous sponsors,
What a heartwarming experience! The
musicians continue to be incredible, the
soloists were entertaining and talented,
the choirs sang beautifully and the
conductor’s skill, humility and sense
of humor is, as usual, amazing.
