“HUMAN EVOLUTION”

Spears, Bow, and Arrows
Evolution of Technologies
How did this Technology help
prehistoric people?
Using for “hunting” and “selfdefense”
in the era and/or the
hunting strategies of the group
develop. And this help modern
human to outlive Neanderthals and
able to occupy new territories 1,2
How did this reflect to the environment or climate?
Referencing the class material on the starting
point of hunting and gathering is that weaponry
has been developed in the Ice Age as 1/3 of the
earth surface covered by ice 3 and the discovery
of the ancient weaponry also shows that Homo
Sapiens think the same way us, modern human,
think in their early evolution and that reflects the
early intellect. 4
What might be a modern
counterpart or advancement of this
technology? How is it the
improvement on the original
technology?
Gun and Modern Warfare
Weapons; as the technology is
created to help with hunting, selfdefense,
and occupying new
territories.
The technology for that purpose
has been updated for the
precision, further range, and
destruction power.
researches and the class materials provided
related to Spears, Bow, and Arrows

Controlled Fire
Evolution of Technologies
How did this Technology help
prehistoric people?
Produce Light & Heat, Cook Plant &
Animal, Making Stone Tools (Heat-
Treat Stone), Keep Predator Animals
Away, and Burn Clay for Ceramics
Objects Serve as gathering place for
Social Purpose
Fire Authored by : K. Kris Hirst
(https://www.thoughtco.com/the-discovery-offire-169517)
How did this reflect to the environment or climate?
From the research released in 2012, only the
genus Homo acquired the skill of controlling,
igniting and transporting fire not only for warmth,
cooking, and protection from animals but a
higher degree over nature as well. This means it is
the advancement of survival tool the early human
use for daily routine.
What might be a modern
counterpart or advancement of this
technology? How is it the
improvement on the original
technology?
The Ability of Fire Controlling is
one of the first greatest human
innovation and it is the starting
point of the culture, civilization
and the development in weaponry
and cookery as well.
Domesticate Animal
Evolution of Technologies
How did this Technology help
prehistoric people?
There are 3 main purposes when
human started domesticating
animals; for partnership – earlier
human partnered up with wolves
and dogs to help each other and
to share food and hunting, and
other animal (i.e. sheep, chicken,
cow, turkey, etc.) as the source
of food and later on larger
mammals for plowing and
transportation (i.e. horse, oxen)
How did this reflect to the
environment or climate?
Referencing the class
material on the farm system
part, the technology reflects
the path towards the
modernism and show how
the prehistoric human
starting to settle in one
location as a group
counterpart or advancement of
this technology? How is it the
improvement on the original
technology?
Domestic Pet become one of
the companionship in modern
society, animal farming in
terms of the mass food
produce industry, and the
counterpart for the large
mammal for plowing and
transportation is trackers and
cars
the researches and the class materials
provided related to Spears, Bow, and Arrows

Farming and Planting Crops
Evolution of Technologies
How did this Technology help
prehistoric people?
Farming means human started to
settle in one location because they
don’t need to go find food
anywhere else and also have the
ability to store during the winter
RESOURCES:
Fact Monster Article : DK History: Early Farming
Authored by: Dorling Kindersley
https://www.factmonster.com/history/us/dkhistory-early-farming
How did this reflect to the environment or
climate?
The early farming started in “Fertile Crescent”
in the east of Mediterranean Sea which had
regular rainfall and in nearby the Mesopotamia,
the soil was more fertile. Meaning: the farming
only possible once the irrigation method had
developed to supply land with water.
What might be a modern counterpart
or advancement of this technology?
How is it the improvement on the
original technology?
Modern Farming that supplies by the
new technologies and use science
to increase the farming production
researches and the class materials provided related
to Spears, Bow, and Arrows

Cooking Food
Evolution of Technologies
How did this Technology help
prehistoric people?
Once cooked and process helps the
prehistoric people save the energy
expense to be able to hunt again
because it is easier to chew and to
digest.
How did this reflect to the environment or
climate?
It is actually still unclear when cooking
was invented but it reflect our “big
brain” and “weal jaws and teeth” and
surely reflect how early human want to
preserve the food and kill off the
bacteria.
What might be a modern
counterpart or advancement of this
technology? How is it the
improvement on the original
technology?
The modern day people tries to
study the diet and how food were
done from the prehistoric era and
have the new genre of diet
inspired from our ancestor like
Paleo Diet, Raw Food Diet – it is
more like reverse advancement of
the cooking technology but it is
definitely a modern human thing!

Permanent Settlements
Evolution of Technologies
How did this Technology help
prehistoric people?
Ancient humans switched from
hunter/gatherer mode to
agriculture and food production and
therefore the start of culture and
civilization.
RESOURCES:
The Prehistoric Ages Authored by: Lesley Kennedy
https://www.history.com/news/prehistoric-agestimeline
How did this reflect to the environment or
climate?
During this era, early humans shared the
planet with a number of now-extinct
hominin relatives, including Neanderthals
and Denisovans so the permanent
settlement plays the role of occupying
space and create the stronger
community – so we survived and not
extinct
What might be a modern
counterpart or advancement of this
technology? How is it the
improvement on the original
technology?
The counterpart and also the
advancement of the habitual
settlement in the modern time
could be the online community
such as Facebook, YouTube and
Reddit because now human are
separated by their intelligence,
preference and ideas - the culture
now turned into a virtual
civilization.

SHORT RESPONSES

QUESTION 1
The profound questions archeologists and
anthropologists seek to answer are: Who are
humans? Where did we come from? Where are
we going? Based on your prior knowledge and
your course reading, do you think we have the
right answers to these questions? What do you
think still needs to be discovered to answer these
questions?
ANSWER:
Even though we already have a lot of
information about our ancestors and their
closed species that extinct at one point.
There are things that we can learn from the
new discovery, such as the exact time
cooking invented, the way each civilization
shaped itself (if there are more to learn.) As
history and science in archeology and
anthropology are never-ending knowledge
as much as the astrology and even alchemy.

QUESTION 2
What technology or innovation developed
today do you think will prove most useful to
humans in the future? Why?
ANSWER:
Healthcare-related technology that
develops for the lab today could be a
personal item for the household usage
in the future, although it was a scam by
Elizabeth Holmes. Still, I think the idea
of creating a machine that can tell you
the outlook and early signs of any
health issue should be possible in the
future, and this will help the government
to save a lot of personal healthcare
plan budgets as well.
