The Way We Do Business: Within the Company<br />

You must not accept payment for speeches or presentations that have been authorized by the<br />

Company and have been determined to be in the Company’s best interest. Reimbursement for<br />

travel, accommodations and/or meals is permissible with written approval from your manager.<br />

Media & Government Relations<br />

<strong>McCain</strong> <strong>Foods</strong> has authorized individuals available to speak to and manage inquiries from the media,<br />

as well as approach the government on identified issues. This may be your local Communications or<br />

Government Relations team, a representative from senior management or the Company’s Global<br />

Communications team, which is responsible for inquiries <strong>of</strong> an international nature or to assist the<br />

regions where required.<br />

Only authorized spokespeople may respond to media inquiries or approach the<br />

government.<br />

If you are not the authorized spokesperson, you must not respond to any media inquiry or <strong>of</strong>fer<br />

any information to a member <strong>of</strong> the media, unless specifically requested to do so by the authorized<br />

spokesperson. All media inquiries must be immediately referred to your local spokesperson. If<br />

you are uncertain who the authorized spokesperson is for your region, consult your supervisor or<br />

contact Global Communications.<br />

Occupational Health & Safety<br />

We want to maintain a healthy and safe work environment for all <strong>of</strong> our employees, and we will<br />

conduct business in a manner which takes every reasonable precaution to minimize the risk <strong>of</strong> workrelated<br />

injuries, illnesses and accidents.<br />

Compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety standards or requirements is obligatory,<br />

and should be considered the minimal requirements.<br />

You should make every effort to:<br />

• Take all reasonable precautions to ensure safety on the job and continuously strive to improve<br />

safety performance<br />

• Work to promote safety awareness and a safety-first mindset<br />

• Emphasize prevention, the removal <strong>of</strong> unsafe conditions and the elimination <strong>of</strong> unsafe behavior<br />

• Follow safe work practices and procedures<br />

• Correct all safety-related deficiencies and non-conformances promptly<br />

• Not compromise health and safety in the workplace for any reason<br />
