Lake?
"Finding this great art will deliver a truly remarkable
experience, you will be impressed by our incredible
collection,” says Esther Inglis, owner of Gallery on
the Lake, a 15,000 sq. ft. gallery located on Lower
Buckhorn Lake.
Set amidst the rocks and trees of the Canadian Shield,
the Gallery on the Lake is one of Canada's largest
retail art galleries and offers a wide selection of
original, affordably priced art by Canadian artists.
Along with paintings in the traditional media such
as oil, watercolour and acrylic, the gallery offers
handmade jewellery, pottery, glassware, woodturnings,
bronze and soapstone sculpture. Painting styles range
from traditional to contemporary and semi-abstract, in
a variety of subject matter and media.
During the last few years, the gallery has been
cementing its reputation as a destination , for
WORLD CLASS ART. And this year’s line-up of
world class exhibits will only enhance that hardearned
reputation” declares Inglis. “This year we are
launching another season of spectacular exhibits.”
Upcoming exhibits include:
From now until June 28: John Lennard and Eddie
Lepage’s exhibit entitled “Natural Elements” Both
these veterans in the Canadian Art Scene provide
distinct and recognizable subject matter, from John’s
colourful yet serene landscapes to Eddie’s highly
detailed tree-limbs; wildlife and rushing waters.
June 29 to August 2: Christian Morrisseau is the
youngest son of Canada’s most famous indigenous
artist Norval Morrisseau and the only family member
who paints in the Woodland style of his father,
learning his craft at his father’s knee. Original
paintings will be yours to view and own at this
memorable exhibit.
August 3 to August 30. One of our most prominent
artists is Tim Packer who has earned a solid
reputation as one of Canada’s foremost contemporary
artists. His trademark “sun through the trees”
images are highly sought after, depicting Northern
Landscape scenes from Lake Superior, Algoma and
the Kawarthas. His work is collected in Canada, the
United States and Worldwide.
August 31 to September 27: Elena Henderson ‘s bold
dramatic florals will be featured as the fall season
begins. The perfect time for something dramatic and
different to liven up your space.
