1. Holiest.<br />
Enter into the Holiest. With these words<br />
the second half of the Epistle begins. Hitherto<br />
the teaching has been mainly doctrinal. The<br />
glory of Christ's person and priesthood; of the<br />
heavenly sanctuary which He, through His own<br />
blood, has opened and cleansed and taken<br />
possession<br />
of for us ;<br />
of the way of obedience and<br />
self-sacrifice which led Him up to the throne;<br />
has been unfolded. Now comes the practical<br />
summed up in the<br />
part, and our duty to appropriate the great salvation<br />
that has been provided is<br />
one thought : Having boldness to enter into<br />
the Holiest ; let us draw near. Access to God's<br />
presence and fellowship, the right and the power<br />
to make that our abiding dwelling-place, to live
