THE NATURE OF NURTURE
As human beings we are drawn to others. It is in
our nature to nurture relationships with others.
It is through others that we become the best
versions of ourselves.
7
WHY NURTURE?
To nurture is to care, love, and guide one
another. To nurture children is to nourish the
heart, body, mind, and spirit of another human
being, laying the foundations for a world in
which we hope to co-construct.
9
HOLISTIC AND
WELL-NURTURED LIVING
Living holistically as well-nurtured beings is to
connect with our innermost truths. It is where
human beings establish relationships that
connect them to the multi-layers of themselves
and others.
11
THE SEVEN PILLARS OF
WELL-NURTURED CHILDREN
Human beings are multi-faceted in their ways of
being. Holistically supporting each of the
complex elements of one another, empowers
mindful growth and development among
ourselves.

the nature of nurture
People need people. As human beings we are
drawn to others. Many studies have shown that
long before birth, babies’ emotional bonds
develop. At birth, babies are immediately
immersed into relationships with others and the
world around them. Through these interactions
and relationships, it has been proven that babies
are naturally responsive and social. Babies'
propensities for interaction and observation are an
on-going source of parents’ interest and awe. As
babies become toddlers, and grow into young
children their social interactions and observations
continue to develop throughout their lives.
By nature, human beings of all ages are observers
of the world. We are drawn to observe the events
and people around us. Through our senses, we
engage with the environment and the people in it.
From a very early age, we are capable of
recognizing and understanding complex
interpersonal messages both verbal and nonverbal
alike. Our aptitude for making sense of
people comes from a natural curiosity about the
world and relationships we encounter in it. It is
not surprising then, that connecting with people
plays a significant role in children’s everyday
lives. Children engage and connect to the
experiences they have in common with those
around them. As their relationships evolve,
children develop empathy toward one another,
and from this emerges a feeling of genuine care
for the well-being of others. Children feel good
when they help people. Daily interactions
become more meaningful when they take care
of the needs of those around them. Children’s
natural tendency to nurture gives them a sense
of purpose in the greater context of life giving
them a sense of satisfaction in how they
contribute beyond themselves. Just like
children who show a natural desire to help
others, we as parents and educators feel good
when we nurture children.

As we realize our own potentialities for helping others, our sense of self-actualization leads us to fulfill an innerdrive
supporting good intent, and stewardship for the well-being of others. It is through stewardship toward
children that we find purpose in our lives, and discover ways to share our gifts with them while receiving back the
gifts they have to share with us. We connect with something bigger than ourselves and align with our altruistic
selves recognizing that our actions positively impact the well-being of children and in turn, the world.

why nurture?
Nurture is a way of being that allows us, as parents and
educators, to give of ourselves the things we value most. It is
a way of helping children discover what matters most to them.
It is a way to support them as they strive to develop qualities
that best reflect their hearts and souls.
To nurture is to care, love, and guide one another. To nurture
children is to nourish the emergence of the gifts and endless
possibilities that live within the heart and soul of every child. It
is a way to unwrap and share the tremendous legacy that is a
part of who they are. We are nurturers by nature, arguably
born for such endeavours. Our human species depends on us
to nurture children in ways that help them become connected
to their empathetic and well-nurtured selves.

Our Nurture Series has been created as a way to step outside of traditional paradigms of teaching and learning.
Rather than a linear approach where the educator or parent bestows information onto children, Nurtured
Inspirations has created something different. Our Nurture Series is something more. It is about being human. It is
about relationships. It is about coming together to co-construct what it means to be
holistic
well-nurtured
&
and
well-nurtured
what
living
it
means to embrace our own sense of self-worth and well-being.
It is about nurturing children ~ and ourselves ~ in life, learning, and education on the grand platform of humanity.
It is an inner journey along an outer pathway where children learn to embrace their inner compass as a guide in
life. It is a journey where children learn to listen to their inner voice, their own spirit, and to one another. It is where
we connect holistically with children so that they can learn to connect with their most authentic selves and lead a
life of meaning and purpose.

"Our Nurture Series is where we connect
holistically with children. It is through
relationships that children learn to connect
with their innermost authentic selves to lead
a life of meaning and purpose."
