CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES<br />

<strong>Review</strong> Process<br />

Each proposal or paper is reviewed by one of CBR’s<br />

editors and, if it is judged suitable for this publication, is<br />

<strong>the</strong>n fur<strong>the</strong>r evaluated: experience-based papers by <strong>the</strong><br />

Editorial Board; and research-based papers by at least<br />

two <strong>in</strong>dependent referees for double-bl<strong>in</strong>d peer review <strong>in</strong><br />

addition to <strong>the</strong> Editorial Board. Based on <strong>the</strong>ir recommendation,<br />

<strong>the</strong> editors <strong>the</strong>n decide whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> paper should<br />

be accepted as is, revised or rejected.<br />

General Purpose and Style<br />

As an academic journal <strong>the</strong> CBR adheres to high scholarly<br />

standards. As a publication for bus<strong>in</strong>ess professionals, <strong>the</strong><br />

CBR emphasizes <strong>the</strong> practicality of ideas <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> real world<br />

of bus<strong>in</strong>ess. In ei<strong>the</strong>r case, however, <strong>the</strong> core message must<br />

convey biblical perspectives based on a proper <strong>in</strong>terpretation<br />

of <strong>the</strong> Scripture with due regard for exegetical and<br />

hermeneutic pr<strong>in</strong>ciples.<br />

The CBR covers a wide range of topics and is open<br />

to many approaches. For full-length articles <strong>the</strong> contributors<br />

must <strong>in</strong>dicate thorough research of exist<strong>in</strong>g academic<br />

literature on <strong>the</strong> subject matter and offer a clear advance<br />

on <strong>the</strong> understand<strong>in</strong>g of biblical <strong>in</strong>tegration. They may<br />

focus on any of <strong>the</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess discipl<strong>in</strong>es, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g such areas<br />

as leadership, ethics, organizational change, strategy,<br />

people management, market<strong>in</strong>g, economics, account<strong>in</strong>g<br />

and f<strong>in</strong>ance. Articles for <strong>the</strong> Liv<strong>in</strong>g Cases, Insights and<br />

Book <strong>Review</strong>s departments are typically shorter. These<br />

contributions should appeal to a broad audience and be<br />

written <strong>in</strong> a fluid, non-technical prose.<br />

Copyright<br />

Articles submitted to <strong>the</strong> journal should not have been<br />

published before <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir current or substantially similar<br />

form, or be under consideration for publication with ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

journal. Authors submitt<strong>in</strong>g articles for publication<br />

warrant that <strong>the</strong> work is not an <strong>in</strong>fr<strong>in</strong>gement of any exist<strong>in</strong>g<br />

copyright and will <strong>in</strong>demnify <strong>the</strong> publisher aga<strong>in</strong>st any<br />

breach of such warranty. For ease of dissem<strong>in</strong>ation and to<br />

ensure proper polic<strong>in</strong>g of use, papers and contributions<br />

become <strong>the</strong> legal copyright of <strong>the</strong> publisher unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise<br />

agreed. Authors cont<strong>in</strong>ue to own <strong>the</strong> underly<strong>in</strong>g<br />

ideas <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> article.<br />

Permissions<br />

Prior to article submission, authors should clear permission<br />

to use any content that has not been created by<br />

<strong>the</strong>m.<br />

Manuscript Requirements<br />

Please prepare your manuscript us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

guidel<strong>in</strong>es:<br />

Length. Research-based: 3,000–5,000 words; Experiencebased:<br />

1,000-2,500 words<br />

Title. A title of not more than eight words should be provided<br />

Author. Include a page with <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>formation:<br />

• Full name of each author<br />

• Affiliation of each author at time research was completed<br />

• Contact <strong>in</strong>formation for first or correspond<strong>in</strong>g author<br />

(address, e-mail, telephone)<br />

• Brief biography of each author<br />

• Abstract. Authors will provide an abstract of no more<br />

than 200 words. It must state <strong>the</strong> paper’s:<br />

• Purpose<br />

• Design, methodology or approach<br />

• Results or f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

• Conclusions and implications (research, practical,<br />

social, etc.)<br />

• Value/importance/orig<strong>in</strong>ality<br />

Article Classification. Categorize your paper on <strong>the</strong> Article<br />

Title page under one of <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g CBR classifications:<br />

• Research Paper<br />

• Case Study (Liv<strong>in</strong>g Cases)<br />

• Narrative (Insights)<br />

• Interview<br />

• Book <strong>Review</strong><br />

Figures. All Figures (charts, diagrams, l<strong>in</strong>e draw<strong>in</strong>gs, web<br />

pages/screenshots, and photographic images) should<br />

be submitted <strong>in</strong> electronic form. They should be of high<br />

quality, legible and numbered consecutively with Arabic<br />

numerals.<br />
