Quand y aller? / When to go ?
L’exploration du massif du Makay ne peut se faire
que d’avril à novembre. Pensez à vous munir de
l’équipement de base du trekkeur et n’oubliez
pas,crème solaire et lotions anti-moustiques.
The Makay massif can only be explored from April
to November. Remember to bring the trekker's
basic equipment and don't forget, sunscreen and
mosquito repellent.
Comment s’y rendre? / How to get there?
Prenez une voiture tout terrain et empruntez la RN7
jusqu’à Antsirabe pour ensuite bifurquer plein Ouest
jusqu’à la ville de Malaimbandy. Puis en quelques
heures de piste difficile, vous arrivez aux premiers
villages où nous retrouvons pisteurs et porteurs qui
vous accompagnent tout au long de l’expédition.
Take an all-terrain car and take the RN7 to
Antsirabe and then turn due west to the town of
Malaimbandy. Then in a few hours of difficult track,
you arrive at the first villages where we find trackers
and porters who accompany you throughout the
expedition.
Où se loger? / Where to stay?
Au nord et au Sud du massif se trouvent des hôtels
proposant le confort souhaité mais aux abords
et à l’intérieur du massif, il vous sera obligé de
bivouaquer ! Pour ceux qui souhaiteraient plus de
confort, des hôtels se trouvent à proximité au Nord
et au Sud du massif : Chez Alice, Isalo Rock Lodge, le
Satrana Lodge ou encore le Relais de la Reine à Isalo
au Sud ou Princesse Tsiribihina au Nord.
In the north and south of the massif there are hotels
offering the desired comfort, but around and inside
the massif, you will have to bivouac! For those who
would like more comfort, hotels are nearby in the
North and South of the massif: Chez Alice, Isalo Rock
Lodge, Satrana Lodge or the Relais de la Reine in Isalo
in the South or Princesse Tsiribihina in the North.
Où manger? / Where to eat?
Les villages alentours ont des gargotes et snacks
qui vous proposent les spécialités locales… « vary
sy loaka » !
The surrounding villages have gargotes and snacks
that offer you local specialities... "vary sy loaka" (rice
and a dish) !
Que voir? / What to see?
Sillonner et remonter les nombreux cours d’eau
présents dans le massif. Parcourez les centaines
de kilomètres de labyrinthe naturel : une aventure
passionnante. Prolongez votre visite dans le Parc
National d’Isalo et succombez enfin à la découverte
de la culture de l’ethnie Bara, d’origine Bantou, en
vivant chez eux ou en les prenant pour guide. Sachez
que ce massif est une Nouvelle Aire Protégée et qu’il
vous est obligé de vous acquitter d’un droit d’entrée
à acheter auprès du gestionnaire de cette Nouvelle
Aire Protégée si vous souhaitez arpenter ce massif.
Go up and down the many rivers in the massif. Travel
through hundreds of kilometres of natural labyrinths:
an exciting adventure. Extend your visit to Isalo
National Park and finally succumb to the discovery
of the culture of the Bara ethnic group, of Bantu
origin, by living with them or taking them as a guide.
Please note that this massif is a New Protected Area
and that you are obliged to pay an entrance fee to be
purchased from the manager of this New Protected
Area if you wish to survey this massif.
