CONTINUED FROM PAGE 4 FAIR FAVORITES: Giant Pumpkin Contest: An Opening Night favorite is the 35th annual New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off. Will anyone break the record set last year, when a pumpkin grown by Ron Wallace of Greene, RI weighed in at 2,114 pounds? Find out when the weigh-off begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4. A winner is expected to be announced by 9 p.m. Johnny Rockett’s Cycle Circus: Features the world’s largest freestyle motocross show of its kind combining top action sports athletes and theatrics with electrifying music. (Friday, Oct. 4 -Tuesday, Oct. 8). Second Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest: Saturday, Oct. 5, 1:30 p.m. at the Trianon Stage. Sponsored by B’nai Brith Booth and Freedman Financial. Monster Truck Freestyle & Demolition Derby: Two Shows on Saturday, Oct. 5, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 each in addition to Fair admission. Combo tickets that include the show and a Pit Party (prior to the show) are also available for $20 each. .38 Special: This American rock band returns to the Grandstand stage to perform their hits Caught Up in You, Hold On Loosely, If I’d Been The One, You Keep Runnin’ Away, Back Where You Belong, and many others. (Thursday, Oct. 10). Dock Dogs: The world’s premier canine aquatics competition, where dogs compete in jumping for distance or height from a dock into water. (Saturday, Oct. 12 - Monday, Oct. 14). AND DON’T FORGET... Fair-View Farm – To help alleviate traffic on Route 1 during the Fair, the Essex Agricultural Society, the organization that operates the Topsfield Fair, now owns a parking lot conveniently located down the street from the fairgrounds. Fairgoers using the lot will be bussed to the entrance using a dedicated lane on Route 1. Parking will also be available on Columbus Day Weekend only at North Shore Community College in Danvers. Note: No parking at Masconomet High School in Topsfield again this year. Discount Admission Tickets - Ticket prices for the 2019 Topsfield Fair are $15 each. Discount admission tickets are available at the Topsfield Fair ticket booth and www.topsfieldfair.org/plan/tickets through Sept. 30.
