The heater booster is an in-line multipass stainless steel flue gas heat 

exchanger which can raise efficiency on HP heaters to over 90%. This means 

over 40% more heat is realised from your fuel that would otherwise be lost up 

the flue. A 220-240v supply is required for the fan. The booster simply slots onto 

any 150mm flue sector before the flue. The heat outlet can be ducted if required 

(see as illustrated).

HOW MUCH HEAT 

DO I NEED TO GENERATE? 

A comfortable working temperature is not only essential for people to 

work safely and productively it is a legal requirement. The amount of 

heat required to give comfortable working conditions depends on 

several factors, the most important are:

Here is your step by step guide for 

working out how much heat you need. 

A. Area to be heated, length.....feet, width.....feet, average height.....feet 

B. Multiply, length x width x average height = volume.....cubic feet 

C. Select the description which best suits the area to be heated from the table below 

and fill in the appropriate Btu/cu.ft figure here..... 

D. Multiply the volume from B.....Cubic feet by the figure from C.....Btu/cu.ft 

= Total heat required.....Btu/hour 

The amount of Btu/cu.ft required is dependent on the insulation of the building and 

the average ambient temperature prevailing in the area where the building is situated. 

A building with no insulation in the area that experiences extremely adverse weather 

conditions may require up to 9 Btu per cu.ft 

For general calculation we recommend 5 Btu per cu.ft. * 1 cubic metre = 35 cubic feet 

• The standard of insulation in your building 

• How much warm air escapes through frequently opened doors 

• The outside temperature 

• 15 C˚/59˚ F is a comfortable temperature for people who are 

moving about and so generating some body heat 

• Calculations are based on a Delta T of 20˚C, i.e. an ambient 

temperature of -5˚C and a required temperature of +15˚C

Use in the fuel system of petrol engines 

equipped with carburettor, fuel injection, direct
