International Relations Office
ATU operates and maintains an increasing network of partnerships and collaborations with universities from
Turkey, Europe and the World, offering exchange opportunities for students, teachers, researchers and its staff
to learn, research and work abroad to gain international experiences, skills and competencies.
ATU welcomes students, teachers and researchers/staff from abroad to create an international learning and
research setting to contribute to the global world of Higher Education.
ATU actively participates in exchange programs like ERASMUS+, the Mevlana Exchange Program as well as
the Farabi Exchange Program. Additionally, Adana STU signed individual collaboration agreements with Higher
Education Institutions from around the world.
Together with the respective Departments, the International Relations Office (IRO) supports outgoing and
incoming students, teachers and researchers to gain fruitful and beneficial experiences enhancing their skills,
competencies and minds. The IRO assists the participants of mobility programs with all arising issues. The IRO
is the first point of contact for students, teachers, researchers and staff who are planning to go abroad or who
plan to visit ATU.

Computer Engineering
Computer Engineering strives to solve problems by means of innovative thought and information technologies.
When computer engineers resolve questions, they consider scientific, technologic, economic and social
dimensions by performing feasibility studies, analyzing, designing, modeling and implementing new information
technologies through perception, processing, activity, storage and communication properties of computers.
Computer Engineering applications have entered into almost all imaginable fields, from education to health, from
service business to the defense industry, and have been used extensively. The Computer Engineering program
includes a natural, social, mathematical, engineering and computer sciences’ curriculum. Our department aims
to educate distinguished engineers to meet the growing domestic and global needs.

Bioengineering
Bioengineering is a multidisciplinary department trying to find solutions for industrial and biological problems
combining engineering and natural sciences principles. Students are qualified in fields of life sciences:
e.g. molecular biology, genetics, chemistry, as well as cell biology, and in the field of engineering: e.g. fluid
mechanics, heat and mass transfer, bioreactors and bioprocess, process design and control, empowering them
to significantly contribute to national and regional development. The vision of our department is to equip students
with basic knowledge of bioengineering and to enlighten them to become a particle for solutions in life sciences.

Electrical and Electronic Engineering
The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at Adana University of Science and Technology offers
young and qualified academics, state-of-the-art technology equipment and technical experts in its laboratory
facilities and provides hands-on training. The Department strives to educate graduates who are equipped with
the latest engineering knowledge, continuous self-renewal, ethical values, and teamwork skills, who can respond

Industrial Engineering
The Department of Industrial Engineering aims to graduate students who are innovative, who possess analytical
thinking competencies and systematic solving problems skills, who are well trained, and who can adapt global
developments of science and technology to the national economy. Our student-oriented education approach
includes an engineering orientation in the last semester to educate future engineers who are recognized all
around the world. The department offers a variety of courses such as operation research, production planning,
simulation, system analysis, project management, quality control and supply chain management. We involve

The Department of Energy Systems Engineering offers a multi-disciplinary program which provides students
with the ability to apply mathematics, science and engineering knowledge to problems of Energy Systems

Food engineering deals with the application of engineering principles for the production, transport, storage,
processing, packaging and distribution of groceries and comestibles. The Department offers novel research

Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering (MMPE) is a discipline with a broad working area and employs the

The curriculum of the Department of Tourism Management covers both theoretical courses and practical
applications in the tourism industry. Our students have the opportunity to develop strong professional skills

Aerospace Engineering
Aerospace Engineering is the field of engineering dealing with the development of aircraft and spacecraft. It
has two major and overlapping branches: Aeronautical Engineering, which involves designing aircraft such as
powered lighter-than-air craft, gliders, fixed-wing airplanes and jets, autogiros, and helicopters; and Astronautic
Engineering, which focuses on the development of spacecraft. Aerospace engineers design aircraft, spacecraft,
satellites and missiles, etc. In addition, these engineers test prototypes to make sure that they function according
to plans. These professionals also generate components and subassemblies for these crafts; those parts include
engines, airframes, wings, landing gear, control systems and instruments. Additionally, engineers may perform or
write specifications for destructive and non-destructive testing for strength, functionality, reliability, and long-term
durability of aircraft and parts.

Architecture is the sum of intellectual and physical actions aimed to create spaces where human life is
maintained, and the built environment. In other words, it is the art and science of revealing necessary spaces with
aesthetic creativity by combining functional requirements with economic and technical opportunities to facilitate
people's life and to enable them to continue their activities such as housing, rest, work and entertainment. Our
department strives to contribute to the original and high quality of design products of all sizes by educating

Political Science is a comprehensive field studying political systems, institutions and ideologies as well as
engaging with a broad range of significant concepts, including power, authority, justice, liberty and democracy.
The field of Public Administration, on the other hand, focuses on the processes through which public policies
are formulated and implemented. Our program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum. As a young and flourishing
department with a growing, highly-qualified and interdisciplinary faculty, we follow a policy to create an institutional

Translation and Interpreting Studies
The program aims to train translators and interpreters who possess an advanced degree of competence in
Turkish and English, who are familiar with the cultures of both languages, and in addition to English, who know at
least one foreign language sufficiently enough to be able to use it for translations and interpreting. Our dynamic
department aims to update itself continuously and is supported by international cooperation as well as projects.
Our vision is to offer an internationally respected translation and interpreting education in Turkey, to cooperate with

Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University
Located in the center of the Cukurova Plain (Cilician Plain), Adana is the fifth largest city of Turkey, nestled in
the most fertile agricultural area of the whole country which is fed by the life-giving waters of the Seyhan river.
The city's name originates in mythology, where it was said to have been founded by Adanus, the son of
Cronus (God of Weather, Zeus' father).
Due to its being in the heart of that fertile center Adana has been an important city for many civilizations for
centuries dating back to the Hittites. The precious River Seyhan is spanned by the ancient Taskopru (Stone
Bridge) which was built by Hadrian and then repaired by Justinian. It is worth noting that to built a 300 yards long
stone bridge in Roman times was a real feat.
In the city, the 16th century Great Mosque (Ulu Camii), the Yag or Eski Mosque, the Hasan Aga Mosque,
Saat Kulesi (the clock-tower) built in 1882, an old covered bazaar, Bedesten or Arasta are of interest. You can
also see the Ethnographical Museum where Turkish carpets, swords, manuscript books and tombstones are
exhibited. The building itself is interesting as well since it was built as a church by the Crusaders. The Adana
Archaeological Museum merits visiting too. Adana is also famous for its delicious Adana Kebap and other meat
dishes.
Today, Adana is the home of 1.8 Mio residents and a leading commercial center of Southern Turkey. Due to
its Mediterranean climate with hot and humid summers as well as mild and wet winters, the region of Adana is
one of the essential agriculture areas of Turkey. Adana offers large-scale manufacturing and industries mostly
focusing on agriculture supplies. Additionally, Adana became an important healthcare hub, with public as well
as private hospital and medical providers serving a wide region form the Mediterranean Sea to Southeastern
Anatolia as well as international patients.
