Apple Pressing Month

time of harvest at Sunnycroft they will be
collecting the apples from the orchard to
create fresh apple juice. Come and see how
an apple becomes juice using a traditional
press and have a taste of freshly pressed

Butterflies is an inspiring, transformative
art installation utilising iconic materials of
Stoke-on-Trent - ceramics and metal. In
support of The Donna Louise Hospice for
Children and Young People, each ceramic
butterfly is available to purchase to help
transform the lives of children and young
people living with life limiting conditions.

Pathways to Paradise

networks have cut through Thomas Anson’s
eighteenth century vision of paradise
at Shugborough. With journey stick in
hand, little explorers can discover all the
pathways, waterways and train tracks that
allow people to pass through this paradise,
adding mementos to their journey stick to
take home with them. This trail is aimed at

Sheriff’s Ride

The Sheriff’s Ride is a unique tradition
dating from Queen Mary’s Charter of 1553
in which Lichfield was separated from
Staffordshire and made a ‘City and County’
with a right to appoint its own Sheriff.
The day starts from the centre of historic
Lichfield, where the Sheriff accompanied
by other Civic Dignitaries will lead the
procession of horses out of the city. The
22-mile ride then follows a marked route
via bridleways, private land and some
road sections with plenty of cross-country
canters and gallops, before returning to the

British Ceramics Biennial

The British Ceramics Biennial (BCB)
launched in 2009 with a festival celebrating
and showcasing contemporary ceramics
from across the world. Set in Stoke-on-
Trent – the heart of the UK ceramics

2013, 2015, 2017 and now it returns in 2019
