Derbyshire Woodland Festival
A brilliant family day out with lots
of opportunities to see and have a
go at traditional and contemporary
woodland crafts. Wood carving,
turning, willow weaving and sculpture
to bushcraft, furniture, arts, textiles
and much more to buy.
Meet Arbor,18 foot tall, part man part
tree, a magical show and walkabout
performance. Vikings of Middle
England will recreate a Viking village,
with re-enactment and amazing
combat. Get to handle some of the
weapons and try your hand at bygone
crafts. Stalls at the festival will be
selling hand crafted items, bespoke
gifts, textiles and timber products
and hungry visitors will have a wide
range of food and drink to choose
from – including vegetarian and
vegan options. There are many more
things to see and do, with working
shire horses, traditional fairground
rides, wild food, campfire cooking and
Green Man storytelling. Set within the
beautiful grounds at Elvaston Castle
Country Park, with the opportunity to
explore the formal gardens, lakes and
parkland that surround the Castle.
