Indaiatuba is among the
10 safest cities in Brazil

in the promotion of Safety
In Indaiatuba the public security system is well
integrated by the use of technology. Indaiatuba has
the COI (Operations and Intelligence Center), which
allows security authorities to monitor the city’s security
cameras in real time. According to data released by the
Press Office of the City Hall, COI monitors about 530
thousand vehicles circulating around
the city and has more than 405
million tickets registered.
CRIM (Regional Intelligence
and Monitoring Center) integrates
information obtained in real time
with the Civil Guards of 23 partner
cities. CRIM registers more than 2.5
million vehicle passes per day and
since its inception has solved more
than 400 regional cases in 2018. All
these measures make Indaiatuba come
out ahead when it comes to safety.
Security issues in Indaiatuba receive full attention, and the result
can be seen in low crime rates in 2018. Indaiatuba was named one
of the safest cities in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas. The rate
for a hundred thousand inhabitants of Indaiatuba for theft and theft
of vehicles was 41.32, while in the RMC (Metropolitan Region of
Campinas) it was 313.15, and in the State of São Paulo it is 258.45.
According to data from the Sou da Paz Institute in the ‘Satisfaction in
Public Safety’ aspect, Indaiatuba was among the 10 least violent cities
in the State of São Paulo in 2018.
Safer City Program
One of the strategies adopted
by the local government to keep
the population of Indaiatuba
increasingly safe is the “Safer City”
program. The program consists of
a plan of action of the Municipal
Secretariat of Public Security
composed by the operations: Payroll,
Narrow Way, Sossego na Ruas, Viver
and Cerol. Among other initiatives
are traffic control, actions to curb
the disturbance of the peace, fight
against drug trafficking, security in
the banking areas in payment periods
and inspection against kite fighting.
