The registration for KBC 11 began from May 1. In March, Bachchan penned a note on KBC when he began preparing for the forthcoming season. He wrote, “So prep for KBC starts and here we are running into introductions, systems, learning new inputs, rehearsing, getting ready for another year. It's 2019 and it all began in 2000. 19 years and a gap of about two years when it did not happen for me. But 17 years is a lifetime and a lifetime that was given a lifeline by you.” Sonakshi Sinha: Salman Khan suggested me to lose weight as he wanted to cast me in his movie Recently, Sonakshi recalled the time she worked as an audience manager at a fashion show, and Salman Khan was in the audience. The actor, who will be seen as an antagonist in KGF Chapter 2, recently interacted with the media, wherein he compared his character Adheera to Thanos from the Avengers series, who is considered to be one of the biggest villain in the Marvel Cinematic universe. Hardening his stand, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said he would not accept the "illogical demands" of the protesting operators. Speaking to reporters, Sawant claimed a major section of agitating taxi owners was ready to withdraw the strike but "some vested interests are misleading them". A number of tourist taxi unions have been on strike since 2 August demanding scrapping of GoaMiles. GoaMiles is an initiative of the state Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) which is aimed at easing travelling woes of tourists and helping Goan taxi drivers earn more. The service operates through a mobile phone application. Goa now wants to attract tourists on short holiday breaks Faced with a slump in the tourism industry, Goa wants to attract tourists from Australia and the United Arab Emirates as part of its geographical marketing strategy articulated in the state's Tourism Master Plan and Policy. According to a written reply tabled during the ongoing monsoon session of the State Assembly, Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar said that the state government was focusing on high domestic spending and international tourists. "Depending on identifying new opportunities, further diversify to markets such as Australia through a multi-product destination where cultural tourism would play a major differentiation role," Ajgaonkar said in his written reply quoting the draft tourism policy being prepared by the consultancy agency, KPMG. The reply also said that there was a need to tap into the markets for 'short breaks and holidays' with new direct flights from the Middle East. Currently tourists from Russia top the inbound tourist arrival charts, even as British tourists rank second. The assurance comes at a time when the state tourism industry is facing a trough. The Travel and Tourism Association of Goa, a lobby of stakeholders, had submitted a white paper about the decline in tourism to Ajgaonkar, urging the state government to take urgent steps to address the dip in arrivals.
