Welcome to our second edition of ICON, full of even more fabulous
interiors, design ideas, behind-the-scenes photos, and a look at what
we’re loving now. This edition is all about summer living, from the
first feature on our luxe lakeside project to our spotlight on bright
white furnishings to our favorite summer sipper.
We also have new features this month that we’re really excited about! We asked
our designer friends to tell us what their favorite summer vacation spots are -
and we loved their answers! We also are giving you a look inside our own homes
with the Pulp at Home feature. We’ll be continuing that on our blog through this
year, with exclusive photos and insights.

Summer is for fun, so we’re loving the trend to bright, bold
colors and playful patterns. Colors inspired by the blues of
the seaside are complemented with hot orange and sizzling
pink - let’s dive right in!
1. Water-Inspired Color.

is a fun, organic look in a
watery blue.

A Contemporary Home High Up in the Trees
There are just some clients and homes that
you “get” right away. It’s a perfect fit of style,
location, and design goals. As a designer,
when a project like this comes your way, you
know you’re going to make magic together!
Two busy professionals put an amazing team
of top architects and builders in place to build their
dream home but they needed the finishing touches to
match their investment. They were referred to Pulp
Design Studios when their friends, who were former
happy Pulp clients, shared their design success
stories.
Pulp immediately went to work to create
a warm furnishings package to complement the
contemporary architecture and finishes. With an
ease in the design and presentation process and
zero revisions to the initial designs presented, the
result was a stunning home fit for entertaining and
relaxing.

This family of four wanted a room
that they could relax in together. We
gave them a “snuggle pit” for seating,
perfect for lounging in front of the
TV. And we added a ping pong table
for more indoor fun!

The master bedroom takes
advantage of the stunning view.
To keep that peaceful lakeside
feeling, we used natural woods
and neutrals, along with a soft
green that merges the indoor
room with the outdoor setting.

How to Make the Most of Art in Your Interiors
We love it when our clients have their own
collections of art. It’s the best way to
inject their personality into a space and
it’s so inspiring for us as designers.
When a busy Dallas family asked Pulp Design
Studios to create lively and livable spaces, we curated
their collection of art, and then added in new items to
fill in and complete the unique look.
Using that Eclectically Elegant project, here are
our top ideas for working with art in your home!
ABOVE: Art can

you can’t use art in
the kitchen? We love

travels, we gave our clients a collected look in this eclectic study.
TOP RIGHT: We curate and purchase art for our clients, which gives
their interiors a one-of-a-kind look. We loved these organic wall art
pieces we found at Carneal Simmons Contemporary Art in Dallas.
They were handmade by the late artist Gregory Miller.
RIGHT: The scale of art is important, and that’s usually where you can
go wrong in your own home. Look for pieces that aren’t too large (they’ll
overwhelm the room) or too small (they’ll get lost in the interior space)!

How the Pulp Process Works
There is a very specific process
that we follow for any project,
no matter how big, or how
small! So when our client came
to us for help with his plain box-like
condo in a fabulous high-rise, we kicked
into action to give him the sophisticated
space he wanted.
Take a tour of what we
accomplished, from beginning to end
and see how we bring that special Pulp
Design Studios sauce to what we do!
PHASE ONE
INITIAL CONSULTATION + INTAKE
This is where we meet with the client and talk through
what they want and need. It’s an intensive meeting
because we want to know who they are, what their
style is, how they live in the space, and what they
really need. This client wanted spaces to entertain in -
that was his top priority!
PHASE TWO
THE DESIGN PHASE
The most creative phase of the project! This is when
we begin to create a vision for the space. We take all
of the information we’ve gathered from our client and
select everything from fabrics to finishes. Phase Two
ends with one of our favorite moments in the process
- the design presentation! That’s exciting for us and for
our clients. It’s when they really start to see the space
come to life. Be sure to compare our mood board and

Playful Modern Project

At this part of the design phase,
we also discuss the budget for our
services and for the furnishings.
We go over the floorplan and talk
about how the home needs to flow
for the clients and for their family
members. That information helps
us deliver a home that’s gorgeous
and that works for their lifestyle.

PHASE THREE
EXECUTION + INSTALLATION
The execution portion is when we start having custom
items made, we begin to order other furnishings, and
we start to source unique items that will give the
rooms personality. Finally, it’s time for the big reveal!
We love this part - and our clients are always blown
away. Our condo client couldn’t believe how we
separated each space to give him individual areas for
entertaining. And he said he never thought his space
could look “so amazing!”

INSTRUCTIONS
Fill a wine glass with ice, pour 2 ounces
of Cappelletti over the ice and spoon
in a bit of olive juice. Generously layer
prosecco on the top to taste. Skewer 2
olives and place on the rim of the glass.
Stir or swirl and sip slowly (if you can -
it’s that good).
