Adrenal Adenoma
(Left) Longitudinal
transabdominal US shows an
incidentally found, small,
round, homogeneous
hypoechoic mass in the right
adrenal gland ſt, which was
proven to be an adenoma on
NECT. (Right) Longitudinal
transabdominal US shows a
well-circumscribed,
homogeneously hypoechoic
right adrenal mass ſt.
Adenoma was considered.
However, the appearance is
nonspecific and
indistinguishable from other
small adrenal lesions. Biopsy
revealed adrenal lymphoma.
Diagnoses: Adrenal Gland
(Left) Transverse
transabdominal US shows a
round, smoothly marginated,
hypoechoic mass ſt. The size
of the lesion and its
nonspecific appearance
prompted further evaluation.
(Right) Corresponding axial
noncontrast CT shows a
smoothly marginated,
homogeneous, low-density
right adrenal mass ſt, which
did not have an attenuation <
10 HU.
(Left) Axial T1 in-phase MR in
the same patient shows
homogeneous T1 signal in the
lesion ſt, which is isointense
to muscle st. (Right)
Corresponding opposed-phase
T1 MR shows marked signal
drop within the lesion ſt
compared with muscle st,
diagnostic of intracellular lipid
within an adrenal adenoma.
Note normal left adrenal
gland .
