IIDA YEARBOOK 2019

The IIDA New England Chapter Yearbook is an annual publication, issued in conjunction with the Chapter's Annual Meeting & Volunteer Celebration each June. A concept that originated in early 2015, the goal of the IIDA NE Yearbook remains the same: to recognize the exceptional individuals, past and present, who have shaped our Chapter.

Misson/Goals:
The Communications committee has their hand in all aspects of the IIDA NE community. Our
mission is to communicate all pertinent information that the chapter has to relay to its members
and industry. Our internal goals are for each individual to find ways that their involvement in the
committee can augment their professional development.
How does your committee plan to grow in the upcoming year?
This year Sarah Long will be taking over as VP of Communications. Our committee plans to
continue our strategic plan of boosting our social media presence, helping to create greater board
transparency and integrating with other committees to fulfill their communication goals.
What was your biggest success of this past year?
Our greatest success was fulfilling all of our strategic goals for the year. We launched a newsletter,
the Committee Focus to give members an inside look at each of our committees and developed
more creative ways to celebrate design and showcase our member’s achievements.
How has your committee helped to build and advance our IIDA NE community?
The Communications team added new members to our committee this year to help advance the
community and integrate the City Centers and smaller events into our media. We continue to
advance our chapter by consistently modifying and advancing our communication outlets to adapt
to our ever-changing objectives.
Thank you for reading our fourth annual, IIDA New England Chapter Yearbook,
Building a Framework. Isn’t it wonderful to reminisce and see all that we
accomplished in 2018-2019? Over the past 6 months the Communications
committee has worked with each of our committees to highlight their greatest
accomplishments and memories from the past year.
We chose the theme ‘Building a Framework’ because of our chapter wide
goal to build our program and create a dedicated strategic plan that we can
consistently look back on and work towards. The strategic plan has helped
each committee focus on goals that will benefit the chapter, our members, and
our future. We’ve developed standards for our processes, added structure to
our website/event registration, developed new committees, created strong
relationships with industry partners, built our emerging leaders program,
added monthly CEU/professional development events, exceeded our chapter
sponsorship goals, received the catalyst grant from headquarters to launch our
LEAD program, and the list goes on... wow what a year! This could not have
been achieved without each and everyone of you.
I would like to thank Stephanie Griebel, Elizabeth Arkins, Molly Sherman, and
Lauren McGrath for all their time spent to put this yearbook together. I am very
proud that we can carry on this tradition and save a piece of our memories for
years to come. Please share your comments, feedback and ideas to help us
continue to make this a success each year.
As this is the end of my term as VP of Communications, I would like to thank
everyone for making these past few years an amazing and fulfilling experience.
I have met so many special people, grown personally and professionally, and
been part of so many successes. I look forward to seeing all that Sarah Long
and the rest of our committee accomplish in the years to come!
All my best,
Brittany Morin, IIDA
Vice President of Communications
