HERO:
Inspired By The Extraordinary Life & Times Of Mr. Ulric Cross
“Hero explores not just the life, but also the dynamic and transformative times that Ulric Cross was born into.
Ultimately, the film is about us, who we are as African-Caribbean people and as citizens of the world.”
Frances-Anne Solomon, Director.
In 1941 Ulric Cross, a young man from Trinidad, leaves his island home to seek his fortune. He survives the War
as the RAF’s most decorated West Indian. Then, his life takes another course and he becomes part of the black
independence movement that changed history. Cross’ long life eventually spanned key moments of the 20th
Century including independence in Africa and then the Caribbean.
Featuring a strong line-up of British actors:
Nikolai Salcedo, Joseph Marcell, Jimmy Akingbola,
Fraser James, Pippa Nixon & Rudolph Walker.
