Notes:<br />

Proper air movement, water management, and temperatures are<br />

critical. For the first week after transplant, grow warm and dry. High<br />

light, cool temperatures, and keeping the soil moderately dry will<br />

promote best root development. Pinch 1-2 weeks after transplant<br />

to shape. Can be grown cool once plants are established. Phlox are<br />

heavy feeders and should have 200-250 N constant liquid fertilizer.<br />

G R O W I N G T I P S<br />

» Requires heat and high light for optimal growth. Timing plants for<br />

mid-Spring sales and later when higher light is available for plant growth<br />

will improve ease of crop production.<br />

Tips for Success<br />

INTENSIA ® prefers being dry, and normal greenhouse<br />

procedure is to never let the plant dry out. So a good rule<br />

of thumb with this plant is that when you think it’s ready<br />

to be watered, wait a day.<br />

» For all sizes of containers, pinch the liner 1–2 weeks after transplant; for containers larger than 6" and for hanging baskets, trim around the edge of the<br />

container as needed prior to spacing or hanging of the baskets.<br />

» Proper root establishment can be encouraged by keeping soil moisture levels low, maintaining proper pH (5.8 to 6.2), and maintaining good sanitation practices.<br />

» 200-250 ppm fertilizer. When actively growing, increased fertilizer applications may be necessary.<br />

» Use a preventative fungicidal drench one week after transplant.<br />
