» Requires high light in production.
» Calcium and nitrate-based fertilizers help maintain pH above 6.2, avoid
ammonia based fertilizers.
» Treat with preventative broad spectrum fungicidal drench at 1-2 weeks
after transplant.
» Scout crops regularly (at least once a week) for disease development.
» Use PGR sprays for controlling height. Daminozide at 2,500–5,000ppm,
chlormequat chloride at 750–1,000 ppm, or Paclobutrazol at 5–10
ppm. Check manufacturer’s labels for approved rates and usage
recommendations.
