If you love the look of tropical plants but need one that is as
easy to grow as a Petunia, try our TOUCAN ® Cannas. They
grow quickly to make bold thrillers in your large containers
and thrive in the landscape too. Cannas flower like crazy all
Summer in warm climates where they love the heat, and are
grown more for their bold foliage in northernmost climates
where they bloom late in the season.
» While the TOUCAN ® series can be grown in 4.25 and quart containers, we
recommend the 1 gallon Royale container for optimum production and sales.
» Make sure your fertilizer has a complete micronutrient mix as these
Cannas grow fast and use a lot of food to get maximum performance.
» Warmth and moisture is the key to a high quality Canna crop.
» Make sure your temperatures do not drop below 60-65° F or chilling
injury may delay the crop.
» A drench of 1-4 ppm paclobutrazol can be used to help hold a crop or if
control of growth is desired.
» Watch for spider mites, especially if crop is not actively growing.
