Code of Conduct for GDGIS Parents<br />
2. Working together with teachers for the benefit of children. This includes<br />
approaching the school to resolve any issues of concern and to discuss and clarify<br />
specific events in order to bring about a positive solution.<br />
3. Correcting own child's behaviour, especially in public where it could otherwise<br />
lead to conflict, aggressive or unsafe behavior.<br />
4. Recognize that the education of children is a joint responsibility of the parents and<br />
the school community.<br />
5. Help their children understand that in a democratic society appropriate rules are<br />
required to maintain a safe, orderly environment.<br />
6. Ensure that children bring only items appropriate and related to the instructional<br />
program at school.<br />
7. Know school and classroom rules and help their children understand them. Convey<br />
to their children a supportive attitude toward education and the district.<br />
8. Build good relationships with teachers, other parents and their children's friends.<br />
9. Help their children deal effectively with peer pressure.<br />
10. Inform school officials of changes in the home situation that may affect student<br />
conduct or performance.<br />
11. Insist their children be dressed and groomed in a manner consistent with the<br />
student dress code.<br />
12. Provide a place for study, and ensure homework assignments are completed.<br />
13. Respecting the school environment, including keeping the school tidy by not<br />
littering. Following the parking rules and doing the right thing when delivering and<br />
collecting children from school.<br />
14. Should not use loud and/or offensive language or displaying temper.<br />
15. Should not use abusive or threatening emails, phone or social network messages.<br />
16. Should pay the fees within the stipulated time.<br />
