Duties of a Class Monitor
1) Class Monitor must be as far as possible exemplary in conduct and industrious in
his/her studies.
2) Class monitor must able to command respect in class.
3) Class monitor is employed for all assistance in the class, e.g. maintaining discipline,
collecting or distributing books, attending to cleanliness and neatness of the classroom
bringing charts, maps, reporting to concerned authorities about various needs of the
class, upkeep of notice board, etc.
4) The class monitor will write each day on the board the date and the number of students
present out of the total in the class.
5) As soon as the teacher leaves the class, the class monitor suppose to take charge.
6) Monitors are supposed to maintain silence and discipline, while performing their
duties.
7) Loitering for any reason, in any case should not be allowed.
8) Mischievous student's names are to be given to the concerned subject or class teacher.
9) Class monitor will be responsible for all happenings in the class during the absence of
the teacher.
10) To be a class monitor is a special privilege and honour. To betray the trust in him/ her
is to commit the most degrading act.
11) It is imperative on all class monitors to report the teacher in charge, or the class
teacher, breach of discipline noticed even during the recess.
12) In the event of teacher being absent, they must inform the section coordinator within
the first five minutes from the commencement of the periods, which can be reported to
Vice-Principal/Principal.
13) Class monitor should ensure that all the students speak in English.
14) Class monitor has to see to that the students do not touch the educomp and green
board.
15) Strictly monitor the students and report to the teacher in case of any mishap.
16) In case any student is not feeling well, the monitor should inform the coordinator or
any immediate teacher available.
