About The Goenkan Magazine A book is a dream that you hold in your hand. The Goenkan magazine is a platform wherein each and every member of the Goenkan family expresses his or her views, comes forward with suggestions, sets goals and the ways and means to accomplish them too! It is issued thrice in a year, giving a crystal clear reflection of the happenings in the school. It is highly informative as it comprises of the ins and outs of the school. The articles written by the top management, staff and students are prudently amassed and then designed for a perfect output. The Goenkan magazine is a complete package by itself! The minute details of the red letter days are highlighted, our mentors - the members of the top management, the coordinator of every section i.e. Pre Primary, Primary, Middle and Higher section, submit inspiring and eye opening articles based on vital topics, the teaching and the non teaching staff pen down lines which convey significant messages, the hidden potentials are discovered in the children when they come up with self composed articles and share their experiences on the innovative activities they face in the class! Going through the happenings in the hostel, clubs, sports department, performing & visual arts, health, the updated world news, the entertaining funny corner, the campus breeze and the photo gallery ensures that the reader has a whale of a time!! On reaching the last page of the the reader is by then well versed with the school due to the transparency maintained by it. One glimpse at the Goenkan Magazine unveils the rich culture and the quality of education that we impart. In a good book the best is between the lines. 144
Adopted School by GDGIS Prarthmik Shala, Bharthana-Vesu The chief mentor believes in giving back to the society in every form. Keeping this virtue in mind GDGIS has adopted Prarthmik Shala, Bharthana Vesu. (School for the under privileged) The teachers and students of G. D. Goenka International School visit the Prarthmik Shala regularly to educate the students there. Hope & bright colours are added to their lives by celebrating festivals with them. GDGIS even caters to their infrastructural and materialistic requirements. Benefit provided to Class IV workers by Ashirwad Kelavani Public Charitable Trust (AKPCT) Staff Children education fee reimbursement is given to class IV and other assistant staff members as a financial assistance for their benefit & upliftment during our association with G.
