Very often electricity is the main source of energy for hot water<br />
generation for villas and apartments. If solar thermal collectors<br />
are used - as e. g. with a thermosyphon system - then an electric<br />
heating element is also used as backup.<br />
Additionally, in big resorts and housing projects with a couple<br />
of hundreds or even thousands of villas, the rated power<br />
supply of all buildings is extremely high.<br />

For a regular villa for one family usually up to 4 electric water heaters<br />
are mounted in several bathrooms as well as in the kitchen for hot water<br />
preparation. Each of these<br />
units has an electric heating<br />
element with 1.5 to 2 kW,<br />

times a day. Therefore<br />
one villa needs in average<br />
