NEDDY NORRIS AND THE USELESS ANT-EATER<br />
It was two days after the picnic<br />
On which Neddy tortured the ants<br />
That the ghost of the first one haunted him<br />
By climbing up his pants.<br />
The next day a second ant<br />
Bit him on the toe,<br />
The day after this another<br />
Decided to have a go.<br />
There must have been six thousand ants<br />
And the ghost of each one swore<br />
It would nibble Neddy Norris<br />
Till Neddy Norris was no more.<br />
Neddy went into a pet shop<br />
And he bought a tame ant-eater.<br />
He thought with glee: ‘Now I'll be safe,<br />
And life will be much sweeter.’<br />
The ant-eater was rather placid –<br />
Though it saw what was going on.<br />
It stared at the ants as they marched past<br />
Without eating a single one.<br />
Neddy continued to be bitten,
