District 1 City Council Seat<br />

has started.<br />

The City Council called for<br />

a Special All-Mail Ballot<br />

Election for District 1 to<br />

be held on August 27, <strong>2019</strong><br />

in order to fill the vacant<br />

seat created by the passing<br />

of the late Mayor Gregory<br />

Pettis. All ballots will need<br />

to be postmarked on or<br />

before August 27, <strong>2019</strong><br />

and be received within<br />

three days of the election<br />

date. The website page,<br />

http://www.cathedralcity.<br />

gov special election will<br />

serve as a central location<br />

to find current Special<br />

Election <strong>2019</strong> Information<br />

and final results. It will be<br />

updated on a regular basis.<br />

Nomination Period for<br />

candidates starts today on<br />

May 6, <strong>2019</strong> and will close<br />

on May 30, <strong>2019</strong>. For any<br />

qualified person desiring<br />

to file for this office, please<br />

appointment to receive the<br />

nomination paperwork<br />

and candidate handbook<br />

candidates forum<br />

again so that those seeking<br />

to be informed, can attend.<br />

Currently scheduled for<br />

July 17 @ 5pm. Subject to<br />

availability<br />

All qualified candidates to<br />

run are invited.<br />

The forum will use the<br />

same format as in the past.<br />

Question are submitted<br />

by guest on the day of<br />

the event and must be<br />

legible and directed to all<br />

candidates. Each candidate<br />

will have a 3 minute answer,<br />

no rebuttals are allowed.<br />

Only questions not<br />

intending to impune the<br />

character of any person or<br />

city will be used.<br />
