Nomination Period for
District 1 City Council Seat
has started.
The City Council called for
a Special All-Mail Ballot
Election for District 1 to
be held on August 27, 2019
in order to fill the vacant
seat created by the passing
of the late Mayor Gregory
Pettis. All ballots will need
to be postmarked on or
before August 27, 2019
and be received within
three days of the election
date. The website page,
http://www.cathedralcity.
gov special election will
serve as a central location
to find current Special
Election 2019 Information
and final results. It will be
updated on a regular basis.
Nomination Period for
candidates starts today on
May 6, 2019 and will close
on May 30, 2019. For any
qualified person desiring
to file for this office, please
contact Tracey Martinez,
City Clerk, at 760-770-0322

cathedralcity.gov for an
appointment to receive the
nomination paperwork
and candidate handbook
outlining the requirements
to properly complete the
nomination process.

be holding the LGBT
candidates forum
again so that those seeking
to be informed, can attend.
Currently scheduled for
July 17 @ 5pm. Subject to
availability
All qualified candidates to
run are invited.
The forum will use the
same format as in the past.
Question are submitted
by guest on the day of
the event and must be
legible and directed to all
candidates. Each candidate
will have a 3 minute answer,
no rebuttals are allowed.
Only questions not
intending to impune the
character of any person or
city will be used.
