Since 1980 this Goslar-based family company has been making 

its marks in the field of fire and smoke shielding systems. The developments 

began almost 40 years ago with the invention of the 

first fire protection closures for non-separated continuous transport 

systems.

Textile fire protection - 90 % of all fire casualties are killed by smoke. 

Fire protection should function but not be conspicuous. Because 

excellent architecture stands out due to its harmony of form and 

function. Textile fire protection combines aesthetics and functionality, 

and allows open room concepts despite strict fire protection 

regulations. If there are stipulations demanding that a building 

is separated into fire compartments or that large-surface 

smoke barriers are required, many fire protection solutions seriously 

compromise the room concept. Fire protection curtains, 

smoke curtains and textile smoke protection closures by Stöbich 

come in a wide range of designs to suit the application situation, 

and allow almost invisible integration into complex and open architectural 

concepts. Variable installation variants, even shielding 

areas that are round or pass corners, and the closure of extremely

Fire protection for conveyor systems - fire protection as a question of existence 

The development has a history. In 1978 a large fire in the Bahlsen 

factory in Berlin caused damage in the millions. In those days, 

the affected conveyor belts transport the fire into several areas 

of the hall complex. In this case, the avoidable damage was 

around 6 million DM. The reason was that at this time there were 

no functioning or tested constructions available to shield continuous 

conveyor systems. Jochen Stöbich designed the first fire 

protection closures for this application case. 

Be it a valve construction form, damper construction, swing 

doors or sectional gate: Today, there is a suitable shielding solution 

for almost every installation situation and conveyor equipment 

variant. Each of these FAA must ensure an uninterrupted 

conveyor process or may not hinder this. Manufacturers of conveyor 

systems assume that the conveyor system and the FAA 

work in harmony and ensure a reliable closing process.

Masters in fire protection 

In Germany, 15 competent field sales representatives support 

our customers and find optimum solutions. 

The company Stöbich Brandschutz GmbH has a very high production 

depth with e.g. state-of-the-art sheet metal technologies 

or prefabricated fabric. The Stöbich Group also has affiliated 

companies that are specialised e.g. in manufacturing fabric including 

coating and lamination. The group also has control system 

companies that produce circuit boards and control systems. 

Our order processing team works hand-in-hand with specialised 

teams and teams that design control systems to process customer 

orders in more than 70 countries. In the case of standard 

products, this process is semi-automatic, but we are also capable 

of producing customised products with the respective proof of 

usability. 

Our own assembly teams, centralised in 4 sites in Germany, fit 

the system including the installation of control systems, and also 

arrange for the systems to be commissioned and accepted by 

an expert. 

Object-specific documentation ensures that all information is 

provided for maintenance-optimised work and also guarantees 

that the installed systems will function for a long period.
