DIGITAL POLE BOOST STARTUPS
In 2017, Mogi das Cruzes created the “Polo Digital” a place to foster start-ups.
Mogi das Cruzes’ Mayor, Marcus Melo, delivered
in September the headquarters of Mogi das Cruzes
Digital Pole. The program was designed to connect
entrepreneurs and encourages regional talent to create
startups that positively impact Brazil and the world.
“In addition to stimulating entrepreneurship,
our proposal is also to retain the talents in the city.
Mogi is a city with about 20 thousand university
students, so it has a lot of skilled workforce. What
happens today is that these young people are forced to
work in São Paulo. With the Digital Pole we want
to create a favorable environment for the installation
of technology companies in Mogi”, emphasizes the
program coordinator, Rodrigo Garzi.
The model implemented in Mogi was conceived
from visits to accelerators and incubators maintained
by companies such as Google, Microsoft, 76 Telecon,
which even became partners of the Digital Pole. In
addition, the mayor held a brief offi cial visit to the
United States in August, in which, in addition to
publicizing the city’s potential, he met successes similar
to the one that began to be developed in Mogi.
