: What differences does Mogi das
Cruzes offer to future investors?
mm: Mogi, first of all, offers quality of life for its
workers. Here we have good health, a good education,
a municipality that offers better security than other
cities. Mogi has a good location, close to Guarulhos
airport, port of Santos and São Sebastião, between the
major consumer centers of Brazil, São Paulo and Rio
de Janeiro. We have a qualified workforce with more
than 20 thousand university students in the city. We
create a proximity, a very good partnership between the
city and the companies in order to support them and to
encourage them. Mogi is able to receive any person who
wants to engage in a business.

of the public power, because there is a certain distance
in Brazil. I have been trying to visit these companies so
that the City Hall can understand what they are needing
so that we can support them and meet their needs.
Since bureaucratic issues so that they can have a better
economic activity, which consequently will improve job
creation and this helps the local economy. The city as a
whole grows. I am learning what each company does,
so that even within institutional relationships we can
introduce them to other companies, other cities and
other places. That is, when they are advancing, the city
grows. My main goal is to be able to support them.
: Regarding your last trip to the
United States, how can this experience contribute
to the technological development of Mogi?
mm: We are creating a favorable environment
for technology. Mogi has a diversifi ed economy
distributed among a strong industry, strong trade,
strong service and strong agricultural activity. We
want to create a new economic environment. We all
have a cell phone with dozens of apps. Technology is a
segment that generates a signifi cant economic value.
We were in the United States, we went to learn from
those who already did it. We were in Fairfax County,
Silicon Valley of the east coast. The largest data center
companies in the world are installed there. We sought
the technology and the methodology that they used to
apply in Mogi, in our Digital Polo that was created
to encourage the creation of startups. I have sought
to create environments for the development of the
city for the medium and long term. Politicians often
make short-term planning by always thinking about
the next election. We have sensitized the secretaries
and the collaborators that we have to do politics for
a generation.
