apparently going to be a huge liability.<br />

Pat and I spoke about some of the other circumstances behind this story and I appreciate his honesty. I<br />

don’t know what bothers me most: in my opinion Melendez is falsifying details to sell books, creating<br />

blogs to attack his critics and using someone’s disability to mock them and create a social media storm.<br />

A few followers parroted Melendez’ thoughts on Twitter, but a few <strong>too</strong>k a more rational approach:<br />

Melendez remained unapologetic, blaming the victim for not wearing hearing protection at work and<br />

stating this “doesn’t make him disabled.” And for good measure, he threw in, “constantly harasses<br />

under-aged girls and women fans of mine relentlessly”. Even though we’ve never met, I feel as if I’ve<br />

gotten to know Melendez through my online research. I’ve learned that this has become a common<br />

tactic of his to discredit his critics, often referring to his opponents as molesters or harassers. It’s a last<br />

ditch effort.<br />
