With summer just around the corner, there are
many reasons why you would want to eat better
and get fit. Estimates suggest one in sixteen of
us live with Type 2 diabetes and some of us don’t
even know it! You can make changes and our
ideas on pages 14-15 may get you on the path to
managing your lifestyle.
Whitehouse Primary School
We are really excited to introduce some amazing
young guest writers and editors from Whitehouse
Primary School. You’ll love what they have to say
about doughnuts, their jokes are hilarious and
let’s hope you can do the wordsearch. You can
also find out more about them.
Artists in Residence
I hope you love the pictures from Nyah, one of
our amazing artists in residence and her brother
Charlie. The colours are fantastic – they are so
bright and cheerful. Charlie’s sunset picture is
definitely getting me in the mood for holiday!
Did you see the fantastic map drawn by our other
artist in residence Lucas on page 4?
Artists in Bloom
Every week the “In Bloom” volunteers dig, weed
and plant to make our towns and villages look
beautiful. Our Artists in Bloom competition aims
to find an artist whose work will complement
their amazing endeavours. The piece of art will
be presented to the RHS judges to show how our
communities work together.
What’s Inside
Hello Readers...
It’s back to nature for home design - eco-friendly
with textured accessories providing the wow
factor. Wooden shutter blinds are the latest musthave
window dressing, so go local with Universal
Blinds. It may be getting warmer but now is the
time to think about your heating - and underfloor
could be the way to go. Turn to pages 46-47.
In the meantime support our community and
make sure you keep your business essentiallylocal
