Get Ready for Summer
This has got to be one of my favourite times of year.
Everything feels more energised, the plants have
woken up, days are longer and things look and feel a
little more lively.
THE PRETTY BITS
This issue looks at all the background things we
can be busying ourselves with: replacing flooring,
updating window dressings, preparing the garden to
name a few. In this section let’s look at the pretty bits
for your home.
PRINTS & SOFT FURNISHINGS
A print can be as brave or as bold
as you want it to be. Think soft
furnishings for a gentle update or a
bedhead wall for high impact. You
may just want to add some artwork
to a neglected wall space, or even
incorporate delicate florals into a
summer table scape. Perhaps you
are just inspired by the new colour
options this can add to an existing
scheme.

changes can elevate
your home in time
for summer.
AN EXTRA ROOM
Your garden can be an extension to your home – an
extra room for the summer. You can jazz up tired
furniture with a coat of oil, or stain. If you are short
of space and not a keen gardener, maximise it with
pretty terracotta pots to add colour and interest.
GO NATURAL
Look for natural products where possible and pick
plants that bees and wildlife love. Bees are attracted
to purple– so lavender and alliums are high on the
list, choose combinations that will last throughout
summer and add variety.
