The KE7200 Ethernet Performance Tester is an easy-to-use tool that verifies and troubleshoots all types of Ethernet cable
installations, from essential copper wiring tests to active IP PING. Advanced copper test capabilities include active TDR for cable
length and detection of split pairs even on jumpers (down to 2 meter or 6 feet). The KE7200 even shows multiple faults simultaneously.
Essential Copper Tests
KE7200 tests for wire continuity, opens, shorts, miswires and split pairs and shows test results on the easy to read graphical display
with backlight. The length of the cable and distance to fault (short or open) is also shown by the KE7200.
Cabel Trace
Port identification via Link-Blink function and settabel trace tones for locating cables with capacitive Probe (optional PROBE310).
Active Testing
The KE7200 Ethernet Performance Tester finds and displays network-connected devices with their IP/MAC addresses. It works with
either DHCP or fixed IP services. Connected devices can be PINGed one by one with selectable frame lengths and CRC errors are
displayed if they occur.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
The KE7200 can perform a Power over Ethernet Test (IEEE802.3af). KE7200 not only checks for ability of Power over Ethernet, it
detects the type available and what power level is supported. PoE is appearing more commonly as devices like wireless access points
(WAP), IP cameras and IP telephones grow in popularity. Mismatches between equipment and power supply can cause a variety of
problems.
Data storage
Cable measurements and information about Ethernet performance can be stored and transfered to a PC or laptop. The included
Windows PC-Software Ethernet-Manager gives clear indication about cable length, cable faults and allows the creation of test reports.
Setup
The KE7200 has 16 predefined wiring shemes further shemes are user settable via device. Cable types are also predefined and
further types can be created by the user via device.
