Sun. Oct. 14th—Sodality hosts Hospitality Sunday in the
Parish Hall.
Alumni Moms…
We will have a meeting this Monday, September
24th at 11am in the Mary Rm. Mr.
Batchelor, our new Principal will come over
to the Parish Center to introduce himself and meet the
Alumni Moms. We will also continue planning for our annual
Holiday Luncheon and Fashion Show, so…..
The Luncheon & Fashion Show is November 11th!!!
40 Days for Life
Sept. 26th-Nov. 4th
You Can Help Save Lives! Beginning
Wednesday, Sept 26 th - Nov 4th, our Parish will
participate in the “40 Days for Life” campaign. We will
be uniting with others in our city, in cities nationwide and
in other countries, for a massive coordinated pro-life effort
to fight abortion. Our efforts begin with prayer and
fasting. You can pray individually, such as in your home
or car, in a group, and at the abortion facility. Fasting can
be in the form of giving up something that may separate
you from God such as TV, caffeine or alcohol. The most
visible part of the campaign is the peaceful prayer vigil
outside the Planned Parenthood abortion facility at
Forest Park and Boyle every day for 40 days. Our Parish
is covering there from 1 pm to 7 pm on Saturday, Nov.
3rd. (Just ½ a day!) Please consider signing up to be a
Prayer Volunteer at Planned Parenthood. Look for more
information about “40 Days for Life”, for prayer cards and
for sign-up sheets in the back of church. Visit

Life Chain and Rosary for Life
On Sunday, October 7 th all are invited to participate in
the Life Chain. Participants from around the city will
gather at various abortion-related facilities and other
high-visibility locations. SHF parishioners will stand on
the sidewalk in front of our Church and School, from 2
p.m. to 3 p.m. We’ll stand side by side, “chain-like”,
holdings signs with a Pro-Life message, to proclaim a
silent, peaceful and prayerful witness for Life to those
passing by on the street. At 3 p.m. in Church, following
the Life Chain, we will pray a “Rosary for Life”. Please
join us for either or both of these events.
Anyone who wants to work
in any capacity with children
must be compliant
with the Safe Environment
Program before the activity
begins. Compliance involves attending a Protecting
God’s Children Workshop (schedule can be found at
www.archstl.org , Protecting God’s Children, reading and
signing the Code of Ethical Conduct and completing a
Worker Registration form for a background check.
SHF will be hosting a Protecting God’s Children
Workshop on Wednesday, October 3rd at 6:30pm in
the Mary Rm. Please call the Parish Office at 638-
3938 to register for this class.

Date: Sunday, October 14th
Time: 7:30am to 10am
Place: SHF Parish Hall
Cost: $30 per flu shot; $3 is donated back to SHF!!!
Cash, Visa, and Master Card will be accepted. You will
receive a receipt that you can submit to your insurance
company for reimbursement. There is no out of pocket
cost if you have Medicare Part B, Part C or Medicaid.

Christian Service Commission...The
next meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 3,
2012 at 7 pm in the Joseph Rm. It is requested that a
representative of every SHF organization be present to
report on what your organization has done and will be
doing in the Parish. This is a great way for all of the organizations
to communicate to avoid any conflicts with
their respective activities. If you are no longer chair of
your organization, forward this notice to the proper person.
If unable to attend, submit a written report to Deacon
Charlie at the Priory prior to the meeting.

The 36th Annual
Respect Life Convention
Msgr. Philip J. Reily, a priest passionately involved in
the respect life ministry for more than 50 years and
founder of Helpers of God’s Precious Infants, will be the
keynote speaker of the 36 th Annual Respect Life Convention
at the St. Charles Convention Center on Sunday,
Oct 28th. The day-long program begins with Mass at
9:30am & offers a wide array of topics and speakers. Exhibits
& workshops are free of charge. Tickets for the luncheon
& keynote speaker, beginning at 11:30am, are $40 per person
for reservations made before Oct 15 and $45 from Oct
