This hotly-anticipated new genus to the Proven Winners ® perennial
lineup is sure to impress! Stems emerge near black like a storm
cloud and keep their dark color through Spring. Dark green leaves
have silver veins. Light periwinkle flowers cover the wide, shrublike,
mounded habit in late Spring and flowers up to five weeks.

GROWING TIPS

If planting from small plugs it is recommended to plant in late Spring for
next season’s sales window. This allows time for the plant to form the
crown necessary to produce a full, good looking plant.

Amsonia should be vernalized for 8 – 10 weeks. This will allow for a reduced
forcing time and a higher quality plant.

If height control is desired, apply paclobutrazol at 30 ppm as plants reach
4 – 6 inches tall. Check manufacturer’s labels for approved rates and usage
recommendations.

Needs 50 – 100 ppm N per irrigation.
