Rostagno was founded in 1950 by Rostagno Bartolomeo, as a manufacturer of high quality upholstered furniture (sofas,
armchairs, etc.). Over the years it expands and specializes, remaining linked to the initial input.
Remaining faithful to this spirit, in 1995 Rostagno diversified its production and structured itself with a “multi divisional”
organizational model.
The “acoustic division” of Rostagno s.r.l. with the advice of the most important experts in the field and with the inclusion
in its staff of the best excellence of the Polytechnic of Turin, in 2000 began to design and implement special solutions for
acoustic furniture.
Today, the plant in Collegno (Turin), of over 4000sqm, has become a reference point for universities and professionals in
the field for the study, design and production of furniture for acoustic comfort indoors. In the dedicated departments,
professionals can test the objects they have designed and make changes in real time.
Since 2012 it has been included among the Innovative Companies of Turin (To).

Acoustic reflections
Sound needs a medium to propagate: the most common
is air (in vacuum sound does not propagate), where it
propagates at a speed of about 343 m/s.
When sound waves meet an obstacle they break down
into three elements:
Acoustic reflections on surfaces create the so-called
echo phenomenon. Technically, the echo phenomenon is
called acoustic reverberation.
The international unit of measurement for reverberation is
T60 - conventional reverberation time. The T60 expresses
the time in seconds required to achieve a 60 dB decay of
a sound interrupted abruptly.
DIRECT AND INDIRECT TRANSMISSION
The acoustic problems of a closed environment are not
standard and the furnishing solutions must be studied ad
hoc for each situation.
Through architectural and acoustic surveys carried out on
site, Rostagno - To furnish Sound guarantees the acoustic
correction’s result.
Living in an acoustically incorrect environment worsens not
only the quality of our life, but also that of our health, our
behavior and our productivity.

Rostagno - To furnish the Sound sound absorbing panels
have passed the strict controls of the Ministry of the Interior
and are approved in Class 1 of Fire Reaction and can
be installed in public, private and public administration
environments.
The company is also in compliance with the strict regulations
ISO 9001:2015 in terms of the company’s Quality
Management System.
All our panels have the patent of industrial invention as they
are equipped with removable acoustic flame retardant fabric.
The fabric removability system (patent number
TO2009A000874) allows easy cleaning, sanitization of the
panel or simple replacement of the fabric.

Absorption coefficient
for one-third of an octave
All the sound absorbing panels made by Rostagno - To
Furnish the Sound have a stratigraphy of materials with
different sound absorption indexes studied ad hoc, through
a specific program, to intercept the specific frequency that
lowers the acoustic comfort of the environment in which
they are installed.
The tests for the absorption coefficient for one-third of
an octave were carried out by the National Institute of
Metrological Research of Turin (formerly Galileo Ferraris
Istitute).
