Entering Ryerson, I was eager to learn about
an industry that many young people overlook.
I was excited to start a new chapter in my life.
I was a quiet, young female who usually kept to
herself. As the years went on, I slowly tried new
things. If you told me that I was going to be on
the GCM Course Union for two years in a row, go
to Germany for Interpack, and go to Florida for
the TLMI annual meeting, I definitely would not
have believed you. I am proud to have become
more confident, and to have learned so much
about the printing industry.
My greatest accomplishments during my
post-secondary years would be balancing work,
school and extracurriculars. During second and
third year, I worked a minimum of 25 hours a
week, on top of a full course load. This proved
challenging, but I would not have changed a
thing. I learned to manage my time better,
prioritize my tasks, and gained life skills that I
could not have gained just in school. In addition
to this, I kept up my GPA to keep the CPISTF
Scholarship all four years, and achieved the
TLMI Scholarship in 2018.
