If you could add
a new course to
GCM, what would
it be and why?
How do you plan to
make your mark in
the print industry?
JL
I would add a course related to information
technology. This is because the world is always
innovating with new technologies as companies
use networks and databases to improve their
workflows in order to become a better brand.
I am also working towards my minor in
information technology management. These
courses helped to improve my technical skills,
which I was able to use during my internship
at Atlantic Packaging. GCM is about graphic
communications and a large part of that is
digital, so having an information technology
course would help students to build their
technical industry skills.
I plan to make my mark in the print industry
by sharing and using the knowledge and skills
that I’ve learned from GCM. Throughout
these four years, I was able to learn the entire
workflow of projects as I’ve gained hands-on
experience by creating packaging prototypes,
e-books, design layouts, and much more.
These projects along with courses related
to technology, marketing, and management
have helped to build the foundation of my
skills today. GCM has advanced my skills in
the technical and hands-on sides of graphic
communications management in order to
prepare me for today’s print industry.
