Explain how you
have changed
since your first
year at Ryerson.
What is your plan
after graduation?
JA
First-year Jorissa compared to fourth-year
Jorissa are two very different people. During
my first year at Ryerson, I was still maturing
as an individual and student. During the first
year, I was not as confident at facing new issues
and challenges here in Toronto. Also, the jump
from high school to university was a struggle for
me. Juggling the new workload from university
plus going to work, I really needed to learn how
to time-manage well. Over the past four years,
I believe my time management skills have
improved and my confidence in taking charge of
issues has increased.
My plan right after graduation is to get right
into the industry and start working, and
hopefully travel a little bit. Being able to travel
is super important to me. I love learning and
experiencing new cultures, and being able to
take my understanding of other cultures and
applying it to potential work I may have. Getting
right into the industry will allow me to apply
what I have learned and start making my mark
right away. I am super excited to get involved
with a great company and hopefully build a
successful career with them.
