<strong>LINOS</strong> flat rail systems can be used as a low-<br />

profile micro-optical bench <strong>and</strong> beam stee-<br />

ring system. <strong>The</strong> bearing surfaces on the<br />

low-warpage aluminum alloy are precision-<br />

milled <strong>and</strong> treated with abrasion-resistant<br />

black anodizing, making these rail systems<br />

an ideal basis for linear <strong>and</strong> areal structures.<br />

We offer three sizes, all compatible with the<br />

<strong>LINOS</strong> construction systems, to cover every<br />

application: <strong>The</strong> Flat <strong>Rail</strong> System FLS 25 is<br />

compatible with the <strong>LINOS</strong> Nanobench, the<br />

FLS 40 with the <strong>LINOS</strong> Microbench <strong>and</strong> the<br />

FLS 95 with the <strong>LINOS</strong> mounts, posts <strong>and</strong> hol-<br />

ders.<br />

In addition to these flat rails, <strong>LINOS</strong> manuf-<br />

actures the X25 <strong>and</strong> X95 profile systems es-<br />

pecially for three-dimensional structures.<br />

All <strong>LINOS</strong> rails have slotted holes for faste-<br />

ning them to optical tables with M6 or ¼"<br />

bore hole patterns. <strong>The</strong> sophisticated design,<br />

consisting of a precise rail <strong>and</strong> compatible<br />

carriers with spring-loaded clamping, en-<br />

sures an extremely precise positioning of<br />

components in the structure.<br />

<strong>Rail</strong> System FLS 25<br />

<strong>The</strong> result of continuous further<br />

development in the field of mechanical<br />

systems for microoptic applications is the<br />

mounted rail system FLS 25. With this<br />

system, linear <strong>and</strong> planar structures can<br />

be realized <strong>and</strong> mounted optics with a<br />

diameter of 16 mm directly taken into a<br />

carrier. <strong>The</strong> compatibility with the <strong>LINOS</strong><br />

Nanobench system enables the application<br />

of a large number of structure<br />

components like mirror <strong>and</strong> prism<br />

adjusters, positioning units <strong>and</strong> fiber<br />

adapters. <strong>The</strong> optical axis of the total<br />

system is 20 mm above the work surface.<br />

<strong>The</strong> profile with its high degree of<br />

straightness <strong>and</strong> low torsion also has a<br />

high degree of levelness due to the<br />

precise processing of all guide <strong>and</strong><br />

bearing surfaces. <strong>The</strong> black anodized rail<br />

profile has elongated holes so that it can<br />

be attached to work surfaces with metric<br />

or inch st<strong>and</strong>ard threads as well as<br />

independent of the pattern. <strong>The</strong> rail FLS<br />

25 is available in lengths of 50 mm to<br />

500 mm.<br />

Carrier FLR 25<br />

<strong>The</strong> carrier FLR 25 serves for direct<br />

integration of mounted optics with a<br />

diameter of 16 mm. <strong>The</strong> carrier is also<br />

equipped with four borings in a 16 mm<br />

pattern. <strong>The</strong>se serve to hold the rods of<br />

the Nanobench <strong>and</strong> are therefore the<br />

interface to this system. A large number<br />

of different structure components of the<br />

Nanobench system can be mounted on<br />

the rail. A spring-mounted lever fixes the<br />

carrier on the rail. When the knurled<br />

head screw is loosened, the carrier can<br />

be moved easily <strong>and</strong> jerk-free due to the<br />

spring tension. By tightening the knurled<br />

screw, the carrier can be arrested in a<br />

position.

Thanks to additional, precise machining,<br />

all rail <strong>and</strong> support surfaces of the<br />

extruded profiled rails are exceptionally<br />

even. Slots in the profiled rails enable<br />

components to be assembled in a choice<br />

of metric or inch st<strong>and</strong>ard tapped hole<br />

Carrier FLR 40<br />

<strong>The</strong> FLR 40 carriers are designed to<br />

connect the FLS 40 rail system to the<br />

most diverse system components. <strong>The</strong><br />

carriers can be secured in place using a<br />

spring-loaded thumbscrew. When the<br />

thumbscrew is loosened, the carriers<br />

maintain their position because of the<br />

spring tension. However, they feature<br />

smooth gliding action for easy positioning.<br />

As a result, they prevent jolts when<br />

their position is shifted.<br />

A 20 mm tapped hole pattern enables a<br />

number of components of the <strong>LINOS</strong><br />

Microbench system to be mounted, such<br />

as mounting plates <strong>and</strong> adjustment<br />

elements. Moreover, cubes 25 <strong>and</strong> 30 of<br />

the Microbench can be mounted on the<br />

special pattern available on the FLR40-40<br />

carrier, making it easy to assemble 3-D<br />

set-ups. A central M6 thread allows rods,<br />

posts <strong>and</strong> columns to be mounted.<br />

addition to our extensive line of rail<br />

systems. With its width of 65 mm, the FLS<br />

65 fills in the gap between the FLS 40<br />

<strong>and</strong> FLS 95. In conjunction with <strong>LINOS</strong><br />

assembly elements, FLS 65 lets you install<br />

mounted optics with a diameter of up to<br />

2" on the rail. <strong>The</strong> optical axis of the<br />

straightness properties <strong>and</strong> low torsion.<br />

Bearing surfaces are precision processed<br />

for smooth movement of the carrier. <strong>The</strong><br />

rail features a mat black anodized,<br />

abrasion-resistant surface. Slotted holes<br />

make it easy to fasten the rail to optical<br />

tables independent of existing hole<br />

patterns, using either M6 or ¼” screws.<br />

Universal system for configuring optical<br />

or high-precision mechanical assemblies<br />

<strong>The</strong> X95 profile system includes both<br />

profiles <strong>and</strong> carriers, <strong>and</strong> is a versatile<br />

construction system for optics <strong>and</strong><br />

precision mechanics. It is particularly well<br />

suited as an optical bench, or for table<br />

<strong>and</strong> frame structures.<br />

An X95 <strong>Profile</strong> is a hollow, cylindrical<br />

aluminum profile with four lateral ridges<br />

which reinforce the system <strong>and</strong> also hold<br />

the carriers. <strong>The</strong>se ridges increase the<br />

torque of inertia <strong>and</strong> torsional strain<br />

considerably. Four threaded bore holes<br />

on the profile end planes provide<br />

fastening options for connectors or caps.<br />
