trailblazing apprenticeship scheme
Created by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the Chartered
Association of Business Schools (CABS), higher education providers,
and funded by the apprenticeship levy, this apprenticeship combines
work-based learning and business education. Upon successful
completion, learners receive a degree and professional recognition
through the award of Chartered Manager status.
This apprenticeship is Underpinned by BA (Hons) Professional
Practice in Leadership and Management and has been designed
to be accessible for a wide a range of individuals. This includes
members of existing work forces and individuals at the start of their
career. It is appropriate for professional managers from all sectors –
the private, public or third sector – and all sizes of organisation.

Fees & funding
The cost of the CMDA is £22,000 over
3.5 years.
Levy paying companies
This course can be claimed from your
levy contributions. For further information,
please visit the Education and Skills Funding
Agency website ‘Apprenticeship funding:
rules and guidance for employers’.
Non levy paying companies
You will co-invest 10% of the total cost of the
apprenticeship.
What if I want to study but am not able to
go down the apprenticeship route?
We would welcome learners who meet the
eligibility criteria, even if their employers are
not able to support the apprenticeship route.
