Programs and Facilities<br />

Gurners Reserve contains an all abilities playground,<br />

barbecue and picnic facilities, a drinking fountain, half<br />

court basketball court, and two large grassed areas for<br />

informal games of football, soccer and cricket. Dogs are<br />

allowed off leash on this Reserve between 6.00 am and<br />

10.00 am and 5.00 pm and 8.00 pm daily; at all other<br />

times dogs must be leashed.<br />

The Gums Reserve is a large reserve containing Council’s<br />

War Memorial Garden and biodiversity area. Whilst<br />

principally a natural reserve, the area also contains<br />

playground facilities, outdoor gym exercise equipment,<br />

shelter sheds, barbeque facilities, a carpark and toilet<br />

facilities.<br />

Lochiel Park contains a picnic area, barbecue facilities,<br />

walking and cycling trail, toilet facilities, playground,<br />

basketball court and fitness track.<br />

Nightingale Reserve Magill is close to the University SA<br />

Magill Campus and contains a playground, barbecue<br />

facilities, tennis courts and toilet facilities.<br />

Oakdale Avenue Reserve, Newton contains a barbecue,<br />

picnic setting, Bocce field, playground, half court<br />

basketball court and fitness track.<br />

Paradise Skate Park contains a large kick/play field,<br />

picnic tables, a skate facility, carpark and toilet facilities.<br />

The River Torrens Linear Park trail runs along the northwestern<br />

boundary of the Council area and contains<br />

barbecue and picnic facilities, shared walking and cycling<br />

path, playgrounds, toilets facilities, and connections<br />

between Athelstone and Henley Beach.<br />

Rotary Bush Garden (formerly Biodiversity Park) is<br />

located on the corner of Montacute and Newton Roads,<br />

Campbelltown. It has been developed, with funding<br />

support from the Urban Forest Million Trees Program, to<br />

showcase local indigenous plant species.<br />

Ryan Avenue Reserve Athelstone contains a barbecue<br />

facility, tennis and basketball courts, a playground and<br />

toilet facilities.<br />

Unity Park, Campbelltown contains a playground suitable<br />

for use by children with disabilities. This Park also<br />

contains barbeque, netball and half court basketball, table<br />

tennis and playing facilities.<br />

Wadmore Park/ Pulyonna Wirra is situated in Athelstone<br />

and covers approximately 30 hectares. The park has a<br />

network of walking trails through a bushland setting, just<br />

minutes from local homes, sporting fields and Black Hill<br />

Conservation Park.<br />
