MAURO BERGONZOLI
DPABLO PICASSO 1881 – 1973
“Painting never bores or tires me. Even after 3 or 4 hours in front of a canvas,
I don’t feel even the slightest fatigue. That’s why painters live so long.
While I work I leave my body at the door, in the way Muslims take off their
shoes before entering the mosque.” 1
HVINCENT VAN GOGH 1853 – 1890
“Today again from seven o’clock in the morning till six in the evening I worked
without budging except to grab a bite just two steps away. That is why the
work is going so quickly. I have no thought of fatigue, I could even do another
painting this evening, and I would bring it off.” 1
WHENRI MATISSE 1869 – 1954
“Why have I never been bored? For more than fifty years I have never ceased to
work.. First from nine in the morning until lunchtime, then I eat. After that I rest
for a bit and continue to paint from two in the afternoon untl the evening. It’s
hard to believe, but true.” 1
IMAURO BERGONZOLI 1965
“I wake up with the morning sunlight and let the dogs out. After an Espresso I go
in my Atelier. If no visitors are announced I often skip lunch and work straight until
evening, with music depending on my mood. Otherwise I travel, play guitar, take
care of my garden and make love to my wife.” 1
