Living Well For Older Adults
This Spring we’ll focus on the DVD series:
Food Science and the Human Body
As Life Long Learners we continue
to enjoy exploring the topic of
food: cooking styles, nutrition,
insights, and cultural histories.
This course is a more scientific
approach to the subject, one that
also includes fields like biology,
neurology and human evolution.
Dr. Alyssa Crittenden is
an Associate Professor of
Anthropology at the University of
Nevada, Las Vegas, where she is
also an Adjunct Professor in the
Department of Medicine, will offer
eye opening answers about the evolution of the human diet and its
relationship to our bodies, bringing together insights from a range
of fields including anthropology, biology, history, nutrition, health
science, economics and sociology. She will lay bare what science
can teach us about how food works on our bodies and how it can
harm us as well as help.
